June Apple is a chugg-y Old-Time tune that was an early indicator that Charley and I could get a nice groove going on fiddle and guitar. Now I think we groove in many styles, but the first time I felt that rhythmic click was playing June Apple with him. In other news, our cat’s name is June Apple, after this tune, but we call her June for short. Keep Rocking was written at least partially while sitting in a rocking chair, so no relation to rock music whatsoever. The B parts have hits that make it a good tune for contradancing, provided they line up with the dance.
