Collier’s Jig is an Irish jig that pops into my head a couple times a week, I just love the modal sound of it. Not the Least Bit is the kind of repetitive tune that can be a little less fun to play, but I find very fun to listen to and dance to. Never underestimate the power of human appreciation for repetition in music. I wrote it in a state park in Delaware, when I had Charley and Lazar camping with me as well. Dark in Here is one of my new favorite jigs. The A part is pretty, but still in the same modal theme as much of the album, and the B part starts with an absolutely classic balance and swing figure, or it would pair beautifully with Petronella turns. I wrote it in the PATC cabin at Bear Springs, which was very, very dark, on a camping trip that included a lovely long hike on the AT and a very difficult-to-use heating stove. Plus, there might be rats living under that cabin.
